The time is rapidly approaching. Yeah, it's not a question of "if". But I don't wanna rush into this without knowing what you guys think, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF GETTING ONE. I love feedback, which I have been known to cover with milk and eat from a bowl.

Shirt designs really should be aesthetically pleasing while still capturing the essence of the series. I couldn't figure any way to make the logo "cool" and keep it funny, so I ended up with this noir-ish silhouette design. It ended up much more serious than the cartoon itself, but then again, the series wouldn't work if it weren't half serious and half silly. Also, it's got Doomlaser.

I know red is an obvious choice, but what other colors would you care to see this logo on top of? The examples below are just that: examples. Nothing is final, and I'd like to figure out what the crowd favorite is first. Just remember, NO BLACK! The logo itself is only black with some white, meaning it looks best on lighter shirts, but anything too light kills the darker mood of the image.

Blockhead seems to appeal to Europeans pretty widely, whereas Mastermind appeals more to my American brothers. Can't please everyone right ;)

As for Blockhead, his shirt will come out either when Ep.11 is released, or the new NG store is done. Whichever comes first.

I love both the series, they both have just, something about them that is very welcoming. I like the designs you have going there. You said you wanted to capture the 'essence' of the Mastermind series (serious/funny) and like you said, the shirt does look a bit serious (evil, lol). I thought maybe add silhouettes of one or two people on that radar thing in the background falling off / loosing their balance. Something subtle, even, don't have to be falling.

But just a suggestion.

I designed the logo in a rectangle panel in Flash, but now I'm gonna play with the aesthetics against the shape of a Tshirt. If I need to add more to the silhouette of the logo, I'll start considering other features of the series to throw in there :D

You dont know how many awesome hoodies I passed up on because instead of just making due with the autobot symbol on either shoulder, they had to kill it will a full on epic battle scene in the back.. this is hardly as noisy but a logo is still better in my opinion.

Haha you know, there are gonna be a lot of Dr.Claw angles in Mastermind 4 (I am redrawing everything), such as an arm-only shot, or a view from the back of his chair. I was watching the episode last night where Gadget goes back to ancient Rome, and it really does seem like Claw was the real inspiration behind the Mastermind.

As of right now, I have two things I kinda use as a logo. There's that minion head at the start of each episode, and the kinda sideways-StarTrek-logo looking thing behind the Mastermind and on the banners inside his building, which is the logo for his evil corporation, "Mastermindustries". I tried to make a logo that included both, but it didn't really feel "cool" enough to go on a shirt. I uploaded it here for ya: http://www.theswain.com/Files/Mas termindShirt3cd.gif

I also think the above picture would look great on the pocket side of a shirt or hoodie, but I might have to wait until the logo is more recognizeable. The original "serious" shirt idea doesn't require as much explanation, which is why I was leaning toward it.

I actually love wearing red and it's so hard to come across cool red t-shirts. I MIGHT get it (just like i MIGHT get anything else :P)

Although your movies are overrated (not your fault), I find mastermind funny. However selling mastermind t-shirts would be really annoying.

It's a nice drawing but damn would it look retarded on a shirt. It's like a cross of a logo and full shirt design.

Either make it smaller for the logo kind of feel or expand the drawing and perhaps add more things to the design for a better shirt. As of now it looks dumb.

Did you see the update? I have a link to a copy with the Mastermind text up top, which might solve the leg problem as well as the logo problem. If I make the image smaller, maybe 150% the size of the NG Tank shirt's logo, we might have a winner. But then again, the text just kinda makes the image taller, which could be good or bad yet. I JUST DONT KNOW.

I could probably get rid of the clutter from the leg on his left/our right.

When I clicked the link I was a bit disappointed to see that there wasn't any red in it, but I felt better when I saw the shirts. Maybe you could incorporate red into the logo, so each shirt gets some of the awesomeness that's in the cartoon? Maybe make the moon red?

Red doesn't match with everything, and because I'm not certain of the color of the shirt yet, I thought it better to leave the coloring black/white. That was if I decide to go with red, it'll be through the color of the shirt.

Well, he's not supposed to blend. The idea isn't that it should be black on dark. And being that the character character design is silhouetted, it wouldn't make much sense to brighten the Mastermind up. Only thing to do is make sure it's printed over a lighter colored shirt.

Did you see the gray one with the text? For some reason I have a love for that color. Light enough to make the black visible, without being too distracting.

That looks pretty cool though. I might get one. I hate buying shirts over the internet though, cause when they get here, they always fit awkwardly and I never end up wearing them. They also all seem to be made of the most skin-irritatingly cheap material.

I like the design, but at the same time I agree with the logo people. What you should do is release a red shirt with this design on one side and the logo on the other. That's why tshirts have a front and back side after all!

Looking forward to both the Mastermind and Blockhead episodes.

Hmm cool design, here are my thoughts about some details that i liked or think should be changed to make it even better :P

Shirt color: love the red dont change it, i think the blue could go a shade darker though but that one may just be personal preferance, and the gray would do better a shade lighter to add some more contrast with the black design.

The design backround: I Love it the white moon looks great with the black, and the radar or w/e is crisp and simple; optimal for a shirt.

The mastermind: overall very well done, but 2 things do bug me...
1. the left arm is kind of fading into the backround so it looks somewhat strange.
2. the abdomen area is too busy, I normaly love details but this looks a bit overdone.

Other: I like the mastermind text, no complaints with text or size, it would be a fine addition to the shirt.
The "Scratches" or whatever those are supposed to be around the window are definatly the least appealing thing about this design. They distract from the focal point of the mastermind, and dont add anything; just looks messy...

On another note i love the mastermind series and also enjoy the blockhead cartoons. Keep up the good work and perhaps consider my suggestions for the shirt design.

If I saturate it or make it more intense, I will also have to change the color to make it cooler, or make it darker and risk making the white of the moon too loud and the dark of the outlines too invisible. It is a terrible juggling act :(

Hans van Harken pointed that out to me, and I agreed. I never planned the character originally, just drew him as I went. I decided on a super-genius whose head looks more like a giant jar that contains his brain.

Also, I'm using Dr.Mocha in the Mastermind game as a cameo character you can hire. Guess I should have MENTIONED THAT EARLIER.
