Clock Suckers Episode 3

"Right on."

date: June 28, 2007

Bahaha, you got Johnny B to give you a hand? And you even squeezed Rizzo into a telephone call. Priceless.

I wonder why more people haven't noticed this series. No offense to the alternative, but I love this far better than CU. Maybe it's because I'm a time travel geek and a bit of a nostalgic Jerky Boys fan.

Bahaha, you uploaded a movie titled 'Swain' on the day of my birthday? Tell me it wasn't a coincidence :O

As for the film, I thought the animation and style was pretty swell.

An Ingus PSA: Drugs

"Haha"

date: June 23, 2007

Haha, "Ingus on Drugs". Is he discussing it, or doing it? Clever foreshadowing pun, I thought :D

I also found this one funnier, maybe because Ingus's secondary characters strike a good contrast to his own personality, though I noticed Ingus didn't go quite as wild this time around.

-Swain

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review, Swain. It's good to hear from my peers about these cartoons.
Ingus wasn't too off-the-wall this time. The other characters were either nipping it in the bud or going along with it. Ingus 9 will be different, if I ever get around to it.
Thanks.

Jerry

"I liked it..."

submission: Jerry
date: June 21, 2007

...but Matzerath already did this cartoon. Granted, the quality of yours surpasses his by leagues, but it told the same story via the same means.

(Title: Mr. Twitcho, Author: Matzerath, NG submission #186739)

Of course that doesn't make this submission any less great, but it was kind of predictable as this has been done before.

Nevertheless, fantastic work as usual!

Agent Scarecrow #1

"Thought it deserved its Front Page."

submission: Agent Scarecrow #1
date: June 6, 2007

Good mood, very Max Payne noir. I didn't care for much of the voice acting EXCEPT for the main character, which fit somehow.

My only suggestion is to have a skip feature in the intro cinema. Because you've got subtitles (I think I remember them there?), viewers might read more quickly than the narrator and thus be left twiddling their thumbs until the next screen change. At least a skip-to-next-line-of-monologue button would be glorious.

All in all, it set a good mood!

-Swain

Author's Response:

Thanks... I've heard good things about Max Payne. I have to try it someday. The screenshots look great!

Thanks again for the comments.

Munch's War

"Weeeee!"

submission: Munch's War
date: June 2, 2007

Haha, even though I did my own voice for this 'toon, I'm still surprised at what a jerk you made me sound like :D And I loved that Adam Phillips part.

This was some well-constructed sketch comedy. It even felt like a late night comedy show, with the band at the end and everything :) Glad to see it done at last!

GUM

"What I've been getting at."

submission: GUM
date: June 1, 2007

See, this is what I've been getting at.

I know that this isn't a typical rtil toon. I also know that you prize animation pretty highly when it comes to NG submissions, so I'm judgmental when you don't live up to the personal standard that you set for everyone else. However, when you actually go and live up to it (as is the case here), then I have to admit that it's very satisfying. Did I say that? Yes. Yes I did.

You know those crabby little skidmarks who jibe and scathe submissions without cause? Well, I'm glad to see that you're not one of them. This submission comes across as an investment that justifies your fervid participation in the NG community, so you won't see me diminishing that.

I <3 my rtil today.

-Swain

P.S. I'm submitting another you-know-what in the next 2 days, so prepare to be angry again, haha.

Author's Response:

i just try to visit the portal as little often as i have to so i don't end up upset like i usually do after watching a few cartoons

well i myself had been anxious to submit something that was not parody or satire so it was relieving to make something like this. glad you enjoyed it.

How to beat pirates

Assuming this is original content (not talking about the song!), then I hope this cartoon lasts forever. I love pirates, be they dead or alive.

The Lizard Vortex

"How fortunate!"

submission: The Lizard Vortex
date: April 21, 2007

Chris, I still laugh as I write this. Imagine a Swain with a big stupid grin on his face, struggling to finish his beer despite the devastating chortles brought on by a senseless, yet glorious cartoon. That was certainly the best closing line you've yet provided, and I'm eager to get this review over with so that I can watch it again. Haha, Gooseman's mountain villa. All priceless, Chris, all priceless.

I suppose it is fitting that I should find this cartoon submitted today. I spent tonight at a bar with a friend, shouting "FOSTERS, AUSTRALIAN FOR BEER!" in my best/worst Austrailian accent, until the Australian stranger sitting next to me scoffed and we struck up a conversation about it. Naturally, I thought of my favorite, greasy moose in the process.

AND I am glad to see Gooseman in combat, as is his legacy.

Author's Response:

you know fosters isn't drunk much inside of australia, and i understand its not even owned by australians these days...but that aside, thanks! senseless, yet glorious, i like that description.

i'd like to see gooseman in combat again too, maybe with more actual animation next time, but we'll have to see...
