I think cell-shaded with thick lines on their face is the way to go.
Did some Blockhead. Made a lil' Mastermind. Co-created Madness: Project Nexus. I love you so much!

That's what we're going with. With Krinkels working on models and textures, it's gonna feel extremely Madness-y.
good i hope ther is no lagg dude.
Unity runs like a dream.
I always tohught 3D shooters suck. This might be the first time I'm wrong.
It will play similarly to Nexus 1. I think we'll nail it.
OMG, it will be amazing! But I would like to ask some questions.
You will continue making updates in MPN? I mean, will have much more than the 1.8? And you will include new weapons, accessories, grenades, rocket launchers, snipers, blablablabla... ultimately, new cool stuff?
We can't. Flash won't allow us to change the file even slightly without breaking. So all the updates we wanted to add, we're instead going to put into the new game. Think of this as a super update, but a new game.
See you in space cowboy.
Not if I see you first.
is the game done or are you guys in a working progress
We've only just started it.
As long as you guys stick to the madness style (Which is probably going to be pretty difficult, considering you guys have a third dimension to worry about) I see no problem with the transition from 2D to 3D. I hope the lag problem is fixed, though.
The lag problem is the second biggest reason we're not using Flash anymore. It couldn't handle it.
And Krinkels won't let me stray too far from Madness style. That's his biggest role here.
Let's get this party fucking started
Does the game still have indefinitely staying bodies and bullet shells, or did you have to abandon it in the switch to 3D?
That's actually a really good question. So far casings I think can be infinite, as they are in testing. As for bodies, I am thinking of using low poly models so that a good number of lingering corpses will be possible. Right now twenty on screen cause zero issue. Once i can get 100 working flawlessly, we know we're set.
It was always a sort of dream of mine to try making a series of 3D animations that were direct translations of the madness series so people could see what it would look like that way and so I could pay tribute to the series but because I'm such a slow and awful person and because you guys are cool and dedicated, it looks like I might not be able to do that. Or, at least, I won't be able to do it before you guys do. Anyway, I'm sure Krinkels, if he did a 3D revamp of the series, would be so much better at emulating and enhancing his own style as he's done before.
On a note much more relevant to what you guys are talking about, I'd like to say that what you appear to have right now is incredible. It just goes to show that getting what you want starts with knowing what you want.
Nothing should stop you from trying to pursue that project. Ours is a game, but it sounds like you want to work in animation. I'd say give it a try if that's something you're really into.
I can imagine, compiling Project Nexus was probably as tough as matt-likes-sword posted about his EBF4 (both are very large).
Krinkels is MAKING 3D MODELS?! I thought he could only draw 2D? Is he making 3D animations as well? Whoah, I never expected Krinkels could do 3D.
Krinkels has been laboriously studying human form lately (check out his Deviant Art page, linked from his profile), and that's been a huge boost to his range of talents. Being able to understand how a form occupies space in 2d is an awesome way to leap to 3d. I got faith in em.
I want be a beta tester for the new Madness:Project Nexus :3 and this sounds more awesome
Hell that's a challenge... have a good work on it ^^
The flash madness nexus was real good (and more as a huge fan of the universe) but a 3d game? I feel it like totally epic. But that's indeed not the same as flash and 2d ^^'
Hey i got a question and you better put this up in your tumblr.
-@ Where will you publish your unity game? is it in a particular website or here?
Just a few questions of thought: Is this going to be a FREE game like the other project nexus? (While also knowing this will be a downloadable game) Will this game be using the same mechanics? When you guys make these games, do you make any sort of profit off of it, or do you just do it for the sake of making people with low blood sugar entertained?
can you also at least hire us or invite us to test/animate or design the game with you? please? :3
By the way, I was curious about this for a while now, is the game gonna be an FPS, a third person shooter, or something like the style of Worms Revolution?
It'll be as third-person as the first game was. A camera travels alongside an invisible wall, and you slay everything in your path. Your dude will do as best he can to aim at your cursor, etc.
I wanna beta test too, :/, I would love to tell what i think about the game.
Thanks man, glad you guys are taking that path.

Oh yeah! Back to the madness games! Gotta be awesome to see The Hank in 3d! Not mentioning about the Tricky's insanity!)))
