I think the new developing problem with the blockhead series is that what he does now, as compaired to the old stuff, is his ideas are too complex. I mean his ghostmas theme song he just went around singing that random tune, going to any random house, and doing his thing. It wasnt planned. Where as in the new ones, he makes a random video (a good start) and gives it to a couple people (walking away from the random, but thats ok, you did it in ghostmas, lets see where this goes) and then he goes back later to ask them how it was. A bit too planned out for blockhead. The turtle truth episode, that was borderline blockhead. It could have happened for him, and it couldnt have. Blockhead is an idiot, not a person to follow a plan. And that is the problem as I see it.

block head's awsome.I think blockhead is best when he's stupid and destructive, and it's funny when conscience tells him how to do somthing simple and he breaks everything.that being said, GO TONGS

Hey there Swain, just one of your Blockhead fan here.

Anyway, if the issue here is having Blockhead stay more often in the house, another problem would arise as you'd be limited to some things your characters could do, normal or otherwise. As for going outside, I'm all good with it, especially since if I look at Blockhead as a sweet, innocent, blissfully unaware retard with a knack for destruction and hobos, going out more would seem a more logical approach than have him staying in his house and cause mayhem and bedlam for him and his Conscience, and possibly the Weevil, although I'm not entirely sure since I wanted to block hm off my brain after all he's been doing (i.e. greasing up the couch, eating wallets, not even caring for personal hygiene). As for his Conscience, I'd prefer if he didn't kill himself, that he would be more abusive and impatient with Blockhead and so on, which basically means that you continue on what you are currently doing with him. Continuity aside, he should grow less patient with Blockhead, with the logic that he is constantly being annoyed by Blockhead everyday, even outside your works. Some notes though. Personally, I didn't like it when that shop counter guy in your Anicomic actually understood Blockhead and his Ghostmas weirdness. I'd prefer if the characters around Blockhead, including his Conscience, were more conscious and if possible, hostile towards Blockhead as they seem to mesmerized by his stupidity. Also, I think Blockhead deserves some justice on his contribution with the events that happened in Time Squad (possibly get his Velociraptor signed?) or at least make a TS sequel? I find it saddening that his Conscience was somehow not with Blockhead during those times. Anyway, these are just some of my insights...hope you read them XD

I've been a big fan of blockhead for a while now for the simple reason that it is one of the few cartoons on newgrounds that can actually make me laugh. As the series progressed, I never really noticed a change in the humor. It's always been funny to me. I like blockhead the most when he is hyper and doing things that make no sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Broken Saints is like the most boring thing ever.
Thamesis is much better.

I honestly felt the same way, I haven't seen the "re-done" Broken Saints with voice acting and dedicated artwork, but the Flash series on NG isn't really worth much attention in my opinion.

i liked when Blockhead broke into house and i enjoyed the weevel quite i bet. i see what your saying here and for me personally i like when he gos around and cause chaos more then the house scenes, and i think that i like Blockhead when he does really crazy things and its just like "wow" more then when he's just sitting there and be stupid: regardless Blockhead rocks! :)

Awesome drawing! I love how that looks.

Anyway, on to Blockhead, I like the clever/dumb little things Blockhead does, like his "Stop Sign" scene (I don't remember which cartoon it's from), or when he's driving the car, and says: "They new what they were getting into." Just little things like that are what make me laugh about Blockhead. Honestly I'm not too fond of the Weavel... Weavil.. Weival... We-whatever, I'm not to fond of him really. I don't think another strange/random/stupid character is required to make this series better. I guess if I had to choose a personality that I liked best of Blockheads', I'd have to go with the random one. I was laughing so hard at the "Wh-why you could cook a whole live chicken in there!" And the conscience double takes, "Wait what? Why would you want to-" (you get the picture). That's why I enjoyed the little intro scene in Ep. 10 so much, just for the randomness; but give him a good clever line every once in awhile, and you should be good.

Hope I helped,
~Jimtopia

Fuuucking hell, look at the reflections n' shit. thats amazing.

I'd have a few more movies out by now if it werent for fooking university.

looking forward to the next mastermind!!!

wahay, looks amazing that drawing :) I wish I could do stuff like that.

Oh ye, and I think block head has always been the same in its own origional humor, but I do like the way you act him out, and the voice is still awsome. I think the concience should be in every episode, just not often, yu know if he's havng an argument with block head or something. But ye, keep the weevil, obviously because he is awsome xP

PS: Thanx for referring my cartoon on your website :) really appreciate :P

well blockhead is amazing. just as long as blockhead is still....retarded, whatever you do to the series will be amazing.

also, i know what you're saying about the mighty boosh. i've only seen a few episodes...maybe like 4....and the two i saw off three(except Old Gregg....that was season 3 right?) sucked in comparison to the one i saw off of two. it's to bad Old Gregg is fucking everywhere in my school now...that was my favorite thing ever.

also, picture is briliant.

With Blockhead, there hasn't been an episode yet I haven't liked. It all depends on your taste. Personally, I love seeing Blockhead go out and be destructive and crazy. Of course, the Ghostmas specials are always good, so don't worry about that. Episode seven was by far the best for me; personally, I would love for you to continue in that direction, but whatever direction you take, it will still be awesome.

I just love your use of color in the Mastermind series. It just gives it such an awesome atmosphere! I gotta practice more. :P
Anyway Blockheads pretty sweet. My favorite thing about BH would have to be his destructive behaviour. I always get a kick out of it when he smashes somethin'. :P
I'd like to see him have a convorsation with someone as crazy as him one day. It'd be interesting to see how he'd react to meeting someone as screwed up as him. :3

Can we trade talent?

:( !

I've watched blocked for a while and I miss the old blockhead. He seems more asswholeish and less hyperactive and dumb as he used to. The new blockhead is more destructive and chooses to be so. The old blockhead is more hyperactive and is less asswholeish but more childish. In the end it is your creation and as a fellow idea maker you should just follow your heart and follow what you want to do with your art and blockhead. I've been a big fan of all your work including mastermind and time squad. So do what you feel is right and I have no right to tell you what is right or wrong. So just do what you feel and know we will support you till the very end. Look to your roots and you will understand.

One thing that worries me is that as I become more skilled with Flash, the levels of expression I achieve allows me to do more things with characters than I ever could before, which in turn can change the entire definition of those characters. I only pray I'm not going down the Lucas route of "We always INTENDED to have digitally enhanced walkers in the background in that scene," wherein what I always planned to do with my work would have sucked and the only thing that made it good was my lack of skill at conception.

I love all the block head episodes alot. But I think that the basic "Shut up stupid idiot. :)" things were funnyest.
The weevel is deffinitly awsome, and I like that he gets out of the house more. But keep up the "Paper atack!" and ditch the... Story line lol.
I'm a huuuuge fan btw

I guess I understand those Blockhead script problems. The conscience can't say the same things EVERY episode, even if it is hilarious. Nonetheless, I'm sure the next Blockhead will be great! I can't wait to see what zany chaos he makes next!

By the way, I understand that you've played Riddle School 3. You don't know how happy I was when I heard about that! =D

Haha I did indeed, and I was trying to figure out if those Moose references on the poster in the library were at all from the Blockhead game...there was a running gag about a moose for most of the object interactions.

I think the problem you are facing with blockhead is the problem that high level sitcoms face. How to be as funny as possible without alienating the err... "Idiot demographic."

The blockhead series is a very funny series but I only really find the last 6 or 7 funny and only the last 3 have laugh out loud moments, I think the series is moving in a very positive direction and I think it has to do with Blockhead going out into the world and meeting new characters.

I am always more shocked and find it funnier when he breaks someone else's lamp than his own because self destruction can only play out so much. This is not to say that every episode should be themed about Blockhead going into people's homes and breaking shit. I feel that Blockhead should just go out into the world and interact with people and that sometimes he should meet his match, the reactions of people he meets, along with there character design are very realistic and I think we would like to see Blockhead interact with someone of his own level of imagination either with or against him. I think this new character would have to be against him as having two blockheads in one scene could be a little extreme.

New characters aside or not I feel you need to bring back the ADD in Blockhead, make him super extreme to the max. Most cartoons (namely South Park) keep it fresh by leveling up on the impact there stories have. Make Blockhead more retarded, make him stupider but don't make him completely useless. We need Blockhead to win for the cartoon to make us happy, no one laughs at a retard losing, well, at least make Blockhead think that he won.

By the way I really like the Mastermind series although I'm not to sure how far the series can go unless you leave the head office. Anyway, I hope you find what your looking for, if you want me to clarify anything I have said drop me a personal message and I wish you good luck with all your future projects.

I'm very glad to hear you say that, extremely glad actually, because Episode 11 currently has an extremely "against" character or characters written into it. Both Blockhead and the Weevil kind of have their own antagonists in the episode...the Weevil's opposition is more tangible, whereas Blockhead's is kind of abstract like the Conscience though still just as much of a character.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! I also agree about the ADD; his madness has been a bit calculated lately with only moments of ADD, and I need to reverse that.

As for Mastermind, I am exploring a workaround for just that problem by having the Mastermind communicate with characters who are out in the world, while he himself remains in his office (the same room although the location keeps changing). After all, his minions are his eyes, ears, and hands, so both the Mastermind as well as the viewer should be able to vicariously experience adventures through them.

Well, if you really want something new about Blockhead that people can't really dislike, why not add some kind of mini-series?... Or maybe have Blockhead guest-star in an episode of Mastermind? And where the heck is the next Time Squad? I think Blockhead is fine the way he is. But... If you must.... You could always try gaming references/jokes and lots of other pop-culter crap too. It'll still be funny. I mean, it's Blockhead. He's the NG mascot as far as I'm concerned. You sir, are a genius. Don't let that get in the way of your flash-making.

You find me ten trained and willing animators, and I'll give you the next Time Squad.

Trust me, I REALLY wanna re-do the series but I am just one man.

SWAAAAIN! Background is beutiful and all but what about the Blockhead! I'm dying for a new Blockhead. Even if he just had a cameo in Mastermind I'd be pleased... for now!

Make sure to watch the Ani-comic episodes meanwhile, they're meant as a temporary substitute.

I like the new blockhead a bit more, its probably just because there are jokes in it and the graphics are better... I dunno.

well whatever u do with ur projects u are still one of the most amazin animators I know, one of my idols.

lol yes, halfway through 2007 I did some research on joke construction, which is why these "joke" things started to appear in my cartoons.
