Nice but short.

Extremely short. I liked it, but that's the problem, I think. I decided I would try to get attached to the characters, but then what would be the point? They weren't generic, either. They had quirky characteristics that set them apart and had me believing that this would be a long movie (not to mention the file size). Then it ended before it even began.

Oh well, it was good for what it was. I just expected there to be a lot more to it. BUT, I am rating the movie and not what I hoped it would be, so there you are.

Also, who was that at the beginning, Chiasm? The opening song, I mean.

Gi-go responds:

Yeah I didnt set out for this to be a deep story with a strong plot. I just wanted to make an intense burst of action, and most people seem to have liked it that way. I had so many sound effects and songs that the file size was huge and I just couldn't bring myself to reduce the sound quality.

The opening song is "Byakuya" by a group called Dragon Ash.
Thanks a bunch man!

Hello.

You probably could have tricked us into thinking you'd completed it with a hastily animated premise for a conclusion. I still liked it though. You have a very diverse style.

ZekeySpaceyLizard responds:

I hated this cartoon so much, that I couldnt even get the motivation for a crappy copout ending.
Thats a new level of indifference for me.

Also hi :)

Sweet goodness.

I never got why the Ninja Turtles, who were aquatic before their mutation, became perfect ground-treaders after the ooze. Beforehand, though, I'm sure they ate brine shrimp and small fish.

BTW PIZZA ISNT A VEGETABLE.

That aside, good Mod 'Meat' coverage!

-Swain

poxpower responds:

Turtles are not entirely aquatic. They're not sea turtles. Plus they live in sewers and yet never get diseased, that's more impressive.
And yeah they'd probably die from eating all the cheese and meat.

Sweet.

You've truly improved since the first few episodes of the series. You had your style down before, but now the character proportions are really sticking.

It was some solid work and your animation didn't feel clumsy at all. I was impressed yet again! Keep it up.

RickMarin responds:

Wow, Thanks man ,well after seeing the last Blockhead ,It motivated me to step up as well so, thanks again.

Need crackers to get into the castle, you racist?!

Title = facetious. That means it doesn't have to be funny, because at least I tried :(

I thought Andy was off in Thailand? Did his disembodied, yet somehow fully living, spirit come back to deliver voice talent to you? Well, it was no Whitmore, but we make due with what we can.

Also, I liked it a lot. It wasn't short for a short, but a short is too short for my tastes. Short. Yet I will love it long time.

-Swain

P.S. I hope you loved the Cuboy picture in Blockhead 9. I made it just for you, and also because Andy was armed to the teeth when he extorted it out of me.

P.S.S. I promise I will stop drinking and go to bed.

EdibleCastle responds:

Hey Swain, thanks for the review.

Andy is indeed in Thailand. He did the audio ages ago. I hadn't been bothered to finish this little ditty off until now.

and YES! i did love the cuboy picture in your blockyhead toon. I think I wrote a review (:

Haha

Haha, "Ingus on Drugs". Is he discussing it, or doing it? Clever foreshadowing pun, I thought :D

I also found this one funnier, maybe because Ingus's secondary characters strike a good contrast to his own personality, though I noticed Ingus didn't go quite as wild this time around.

-Swain

KupaMan responds:

Thanks for the review, Swain. It's good to hear from my peers about these cartoons.
Ingus wasn't too off-the-wall this time. The other characters were either nipping it in the bud or going along with it. Ingus 9 will be different, if I ever get around to it.
Thanks.

Weeeee!

Haha, even though I did my own voice for this 'toon, I'm still surprised at what a jerk you made me sound like :D And I loved that Adam Phillips part.

This was some well-constructed sketch comedy. It even felt like a late night comedy show, with the band at the end and everything :) Glad to see it done at last!

-Swain

munchmed responds:

thanks Mike!
Now wheres the next Bockhead? :P

What I've been getting at.

See, this is what I've been getting at.

I know that this isn't a typical rtil toon. I also know that you prize animation pretty highly when it comes to NG submissions, so I'm judgmental when you don't live up to the personal standard that you set for everyone else. However, when you actually go and live up to it (as is the case here), then I have to admit that it's very satisfying. Did I say that? Yes. Yes I did.

You know those crabby little skidmarks who jibe and scathe submissions without cause? Well, I'm glad to see that you're not one of them. This submission comes across as an investment that justifies your fervid participation in the NG community, so you won't see me diminishing that.

I <3 my rtil today.

-Swain

P.S. I'm submitting another you-know-what in the next 2 days, so prepare to be angry again, haha.

rtil responds:

i just try to visit the portal as little often as i have to so i don't end up upset like i usually do after watching a few cartoons

well i myself had been anxious to submit something that was not parody or satire so it was relieving to make something like this. glad you enjoyed it.

:D

Haha, why?!

-Swain

Meebs responds:

OMG I LUV YOU.
Thanks though heh...

How fortunate!

Chris, I still laugh as I write this. Imagine a Swain with a big stupid grin on his face, struggling to finish his beer despite the devastating chortles brought on by a senseless, yet glorious cartoon. That was certainly the best closing line you've yet provided, and I'm eager to get this review over with so that I can watch it again. Haha, Gooseman's mountain villa. All priceless, Chris, all priceless.

I suppose it is fitting that I should find this cartoon submitted today. I spent tonight at a bar with a friend, shouting "FOSTERS, AUSTRALIAN FOR BEER!" in my best/worst Austrailian accent, until the Australian stranger sitting next to me scoffed and we struck up a conversation about it. Naturally, I thought of my favorite, greasy moose in the process.

AND I am glad to see Gooseman in combat, as is his legacy.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

you know fosters isn't drunk much inside of australia, and i understand its not even owned by australians these days...but that aside, thanks! senseless, yet glorious, i like that description.

i'd like to see gooseman in combat again too, maybe with more actual animation next time, but we'll have to see...

Did some Blockhead. Made a lil' Mastermind. Co-created Madness: Project Nexus. I love you so much!
